  • What is knitted wire?

    Knitted wire is a highly technical and niche product used in a variety of different indsutries. The mesh features small continuous interlocking loops that allow the mesh to be extremey flexible. 

  • What are the differences between the ClearMesh products?

    The numbers within the ClearMesh product name indicate the wire diameter size that the product is made from:


    ClearMesh25: 0.25mm wire.

    ClearMesh35: 0.35mm wire.

    ClearMeshHT: Double knit 0.25mm wire with a high tensile wire (also known as a spring wire).

  • Can you join two pieces of ClearMesh?

    The mesh can be joined through a variety of methods, the most popular being hog rings and stitching. Video demonstrations for these can be found on our YouTube channel. You can also purchase hog rings and wire from our online store.

  • What is the lead time?

    Lead times are highly dependant upon the number of rolls, the roll sizes that have been ordered and our current production schedule. Knitwire manufactures a wide range of products for many different industries meaning that certain times of the year are busier than others causing an increased lead time.

  • How do you install ClearMesh?

    ClearMesh can be installed to either a wooden or metal frame using staples, wire or cable ties. It is always recommended that you should fold over the raw edge of the mesh during installation and joining to prevent the mesh from unravelling. It may also be a good idea to sandwich the edge of the mesh between 2 pieces of wood when installing to a wooden structure.

  • What is the aperture of ClearMesh?

    The aperture (hole size) of ClearMesh is 4mm x 5mm, making it ideal for keeping out mice and rats. 

  • Will ClearMesh keep out cats/foxes/badgers, etc?

    ClearMesh has only ever been tested against giant mole rats over at our South African factory, however we are able to offer anecdotal evidence from customers who have used the mesh for this purpose.
